Diamond In The Rough: Deitron Parker

Deitron Parker is a 6’0″, 196 pound outside linebacker out of Scotlandville High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is in the class of 2021. Parker has a quick speed and has no trouble getting to his target. He is very physical and can tackle very well as he uses his strength to dominate every down and play. He has a 4.0 gpa.

At what age did you begin playing football? What motivated you to play this sport?

I started playing at the age of eight. I always say football on tv, and I also saw my big cousins brothers play. That made me want to play.

What is your favorite thing about being an outside linebacker?

I love going straight to the ball and being aggressive. I also get to make big tackles and big plays.

What are some goals you have for this season?

I want to win every game and stand out on the field, as a player and a team.

How do you think coaches and teammates would describe you?

They would say I am full of energy and hype!

What has football taught you about yourself or life?

Football has taught me about discipline and having something to work for.

What’s your favorite thing about playing football in Louisiana?

My favorite thing is the the competition as I get to take my aggression out on some good talent.

What would you tell younger players who want to play high school football one day?

I would tell them it takes a lot of hard work. It is always the next man up.

What would you bring to a college team, and what are you looking for out of one?

I would bring a great player. I would help my team win games and I would lead in the defense.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, hopefully I am playing in the NFL. I want to start my own real estate business. Hopefully, I am living in Houston, Texas.

What are three words to describe yourself?

Smart, happy, and aggressive.

Do you have any hobbies outside of sports?

I ride horses and work out a lot. I do play video games, but I basically train.

Are there any college or NFL athletes that you look up to or try to model your play style after?

I look up to my cousin as if he can do things on the field, I can do them as well.

If you could vacation anywhere in the world right now, where would you pick?

I would pick Dubai!
