Diamond in the Rough: Alfred McKnight

Alfred McKnight is a consistent and key piece at running-back playing for Madison Prep Academy. With a frame of 5’11, 186 pounds, the senior running-back looks to help his team win a state championship in his final season. Alfred McKnight aspires to be great this season and is excelling off the field with a 3.35 GPA. Alfred’s next game will be tonight, as they take on Southern Lab!

When did you start playing football?

“I started playing football at 7-8 years old.”

What made you start playing?

“I started playing football because of my big brother and I always looked up to him.”

What do you love about football?

“One thing I love the most about football is that you can hit somebody and get away with it.”

What player, NFL or College did you model your game after?

“At first I modeled my playing style after Ezekiel Elliott, but now it’s Quinshon Judkins because I’m more of a down-hill back and I could do everything.”

What would your teammates say about you?

“Most of my teammates would say that I smile I lot but when it’s time to lock in I’m focus.”

What is your motivation?

“My motivation is my mom, we call her ‘T-Lady’. She made it happen for me when no one else did, she was this there for me when nobody else was, that’s why I’m working hard so she wouldn’t have to work anymore.”

What parts of your game are you working on right now?

“The part of my game that I’m working on now is making players miss in open field.”

What is your goal for this season?

“My goal for this season is 1,600 rushing yards, 20 Touchdowns, and win state(championship).”

What game or moment in the game has been your favorite up to this point?

“I don’t really have a favorite game moment right now, when we win state then I’ll have a favorite game moment.”

What do you do on your free time outside of school?

“On my free time it’s ether I’m working out or watching football on the weekends.”

What is one thing that you think college coaches and recruiters should know about you?

“One thing that college coaches should know about me is that I don’t want anything given to me, I always been the underdog so I’d rather work for everything that I get.”
