Jennings High School (Jennings, LA) DB Gerald Watson III has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be held at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana on Tuesday, December 30th.
For the Jennings Bulldogs, Gerald Watson III was always going to have his say in the game whether it is making plays on defense or on offense. The 5’10, 150 pound defensive back has been a consistent performer over his prep career as a two time 1st Team All-District performer.
“Gerald Watson is another three year starter for us. He has started at cornerback for us and was an All-District player last year. He is going to be one of the guys that we will build our defense around.”

As a junior, Watson had 53 tackles, 9 PBUs, 3 INTs, a forced fumble, and only three touchdowns allowed on defense while also having two touchdowns on offense. He followed that up with an even better senior campaign with 80 total tackles, 3 sacks, 3 INTs, a fumble recovery, and 10 PBUs. While Watson is splendid in coverage, he is also an aggressive player when it comes to blitzing off the edge or helping out in the run game, which are qualities that you don’t see often in a cornerback of his size.
While also making plays at running back, Watson’s speed makes him a dangerous weapon wherever he lines up. At this off-season’s Gridiron Football Elite Camp held at Louisiana Christian University, it was Watson that had the fastest 40 yard dash of the entire camp running a 4.47/40. It was that moment in which he was not only named the camp’s top performer but earned himself an offer to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
