From the state of Mississippi, DeSoto Central High School (Southaven, MS) TE Matthew “Gage” Davis has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Tuesday, December 30th at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana.
At 6’0, 230 pounds, Davis is perhaps the best blocking H-Back/tight end on this whole roster. Lining up at the H-Back position for the Jaguars, Davis was one of the key players on a 7-5 playoff team in the state of Mississippi. As a two-year starter, there was no question who was paving the way for the Jaguars’ running backs. Whether it was being a blocker out in space or being a power blocker, Davis would put opposing defenders on their backs. There are not a lot of unselfish, hard nosed, bring your lunch pail type of guys out there, but undoubtedly, Davis is an old school type of player.
His blocking ability, grittiness, and toughness was noticed by his peers and coaches as he was named 2nd Team All-Region in Region 1-7A. With a 3.1 GPA in the classroom to boost, his qualities have attracted the attention of college coaches including Mississippi Delta. In fact, he recently committed to play at Mississippi Delta Community College earlier this month. Davis talked about his commitment and why he decided to play for the Trojans.
“The reason I committed to Mississippi Delta was because from the point of offer, the coaches were very engaging and welcoming. They showed the importance of building a strong player and coach relationship.”

While it is set where Gage Davis is playing college football, he is looking forward to a unique opportunity of playing in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
“It’s an honor to have been selected to play in the bowl game. I’m excited to get to meet different players and coaches and share the field with great talent. I feel like this is going to be a great learning experience and I hope to take a lot away from this experience while showcasing my talent.”
