DeRidder High School (DeRidder, LA) running back Connor Rushford has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
Rushford is a dynamic weapon with top end open field speed. When the Dragons’ playmaker reaches the second level of the defense, there are not a lot of players that can catch up with him because of his quickness and burst. That allowed him to have a big-time junior campaign in which Rushford rushed his way to 1,537 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Earning 1st Team All-District honors at not only running back, but at punter, the All-Southwest Louisiana Football Team member is a versatile athlete that can even go under center at quarterback if needed for the Dragons as well. He has also played wide receiver and on defense in the past too. As an all-around athlete, he not only excels on the gridiron, but on the baseball diamond as well making All-District twice as a baseball outfielder.
His quickness and speed were on display earning himself a three star rating by Gridiron Football at the DeRidder camp earlier this offseason by running the fastest 40 of the camp. At the camp, it was where Rushford not only earned a Top Camp Performer award, but an official invite to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game that is played at Louisiana Christian University on Tuesday, December 30th.
