BREAKING NEWS: Buckeye High School (Buckeye, LA) LB Ty Curtis Commits To 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game

Buckeye High School (Buckeye, LA) LB Ty Curtis has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be held at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana on Tuesday, December 30th.

At 5’11, 200 pounds, Ty Curtis plays the game like he is 6’5, 290 pounds. Commanding the middle of the Buckeye Panthers defense, Curtis has been a tackling machine and somebody that opposing offenses have to account and game plan for. One thing is for certain when you look at this three-star rated linebacker by Gridiron Football and that is Curtis will leave a mark on opposing ball carriers when they get the football.

Despite only playing in eight games this season, Curtis made up for every bit of any time he lost as he still racked up 110 total tackles, 7 TFLs, 1 sack, 1 PBU, 3 FFs, 2 FRs, and 6 QB hurries. The 1st Team All-District linebacker has made All-Parish, All-District twice, All-CenLa, and perhaps, his most impressive performance was his Week 3 performance against South Beauregard where he racked up 24 total tackles (14 solo, 10 assists) in a 27-26 victory. That standout individual display earned him Gridiron Football Player of the Week.

“Ty’s work ethic, what he does on and off the field, his character, he is the epitome of a student athlete. He does everything the right way. He was brought up in a great household by his parents and he takes those values and puts it on the football field. As a coach, you don’t have to worry about him doing the wrong thing. He is always going to do the right thing and on top of that, he is a great football player. At the collegiate level, you can’t put a price on that. For anybody that gets him, that is their gain and for anybody that doesn’t get him, that is their loss.”

With a 3.8 GPA, Ty Curtis has received college offers from Louisiana Christian University, Millsaps College, and Belhaven. Not only will he have the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of college coaches at this year’s bowl game, but he will also get to share the spotlight with his younger brother Cason Curtis, who is one of the quarterbacks for the Gridiron Football Junior High All-American Bowl Game.

“Thank you so much for this honor to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. I am really looking forward to playing and showing my talents.”
