The Albany Hornets’ bruising bellcow running back Jonah Grob has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will take place on Tuesday, December 30th at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana.
At 6’0, 200 pounds, Grob is the perfect representative of what head coach Travis Mikel wants in his football program. Whether it is carrying the ball on offense or tackling ball carriers on defense over his career at linebacker, Grob has always proven to be the hammer and not the nail. It is shown by what he has accomplished as a versatile playmaker. He has made 2nd Team All-District as a tight end/defensive back, 2nd Team All-Parish as a defensive back, and 1st Team All-Parish as an athlete. It looks like he is going to add to his trophy room with a running back selection by season’s end.
Offensively, Grob has been the Hornets’ go to guy with close to 2,000 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns on the ground highlighted by a Week 7 performance in which he received Gridiron Football Player of the Week honors with 240 yards rushing, 149 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns in a 46-0 win over Springfield.
Rated as a three-star prospect by Gridiron Football with a 3.7 GPA, Grob has received two offers from Bethel College and Culver Stockton. After receiving an offer to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game at the beginning of the season at our Media Day, Grob is excited to showcase his talents in front of other college coaches at Louisiana Christian University.
