The gossip around the Saints offices suggest that Graham may return to his former team. Graham’s contract with Seattle expires next week. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the tight end would be interested in returning to the Saints.
Graham excelled with the Saints after being drafted in the third round in 2010 but there’s probably no chance the Saints will offer Graham a deal anywhere close to the tight end’s last deal with the team, but the 31-year-old tight end should realize those days are gone. Still, Graham is arguably one of the best tight ends currently on the market. Graham’s market value is $6.7 million per year on average. Most fans will recall how much drama surrounded Graham’s last contract negotiations with the team. Perhaps time has healed the wounds from the Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton argument in front of an arbitrator.
If both sides can come together, a Graham-Saints sequel makes sense as in my opinion there’s no question Graham could still help the Saints offense.
