Let’s welcome the latest Diamond in the Rough, from the class of 2027, Amari Parker! Amari is skillfully maintaining a 3.2 GPA while running track, and continuing to play football. This confident athlete is 5’10 and weighs 165 lbs. He benches 245 lbs, can squat 405 lbs, and has a clean of 205 lbs. Amari was previously timed running a 4.5, 40 yd dash. This past season, Amari showed off his skills and had an impressive 3 interceptions, 27 tackles and a touchdown! When it comes to awards, Amari is certainly not lacking any. In 2024, he received an award for Top Defense, and in 2025, he was awarded All-Conference. These qualities have led Amari to be the recipient of one of the first Gridiron All-American Bowl game invites of this season!

What is your biggest strength?

“My football I.Q.”

Are there any skills you want to improve on?

“Just feeling more confident about attacking the ball.”

What does a typical training day look like?

“I get up in the morning, eat, go to the gym, and lift. Then I get some more work or skills in and after chill until practice.”

What is your biggest motivator?

“My dad, seeing how it didn’t work out for him made me want to do everything he couldn’t.”

Has there been a difficult time or injury you have overcome?

“I dislocated my shoulder. I really just rested and got proper treatment.”

Why do you play football?

“I was forced at a young age, but then I fell in love with it.”

What is your favorite memory of playing football?

“Playing in middle school with all of my friends.”

What are your goals?

“Making it to college and playing there, also getting my business degree.”

What are you most proud of in your journey?

“How much I’ve grown. People told me I couldn’t do it cause of my size, so I got bigger, that way I couldn’t be denied.”

How do you stay focused in high pressure situations?

“By blocking out all the noise, even the good ones, and trying to stay focused on the goal.”

As one of the first people to be offered a bowl game invite, how do you stand out from others?

“I line up with the stars and show that I can compete with those guys.”

Why should you be recruited?

“I’m very reliable and a good teammate, I’m a film techy, and I work hard. I produce.”

What advice do you have for others in your position?

“Keep working hard and do it for yourself, cause no one else will.”
