Torrance Cooks is a WR/DB for Riveroaks Academy, class of 2026. He is a multi-sport athlete playing basketball and he started his football career his last year of high school. Torrance was a Gatlinburg All-American. Cooks was a play-maker for Riveroaks and received many offers from the following schools: Capital University, SBV Community College, Arkansas Baptist, Tennessee Valley, and Reinhardt University. Torrance sustained a GPA of 3.5 making an impact on and off the field. “I want to thank my coaches Allen Chance and Coach Bo Barton for giving me the opportunity and believing in me.” We at Gridiron Football wish Torrance the best!
What made you start playing football?
It was my last year of high school so I just wanted to try it out. I was a basketball player, so I wanted try something new.
What does being a good teammate mean to you?
It really mean everything because you can’t win it by yourself. It determinate the whole game and make your teammates comfortable.
What motivates you most to play football?
Really my size because I’m already undersized, so I just want to show people that it is possible.
How was your experience during the Bowl Game?
It was very competitive, everybody out there really did their thing. It was straight dogs out there!
Dream Football College?
South Carolina.
How has football helped you outside the sport?
It’s like an escape to get my mind off different stuff.

Would you rather play WR or DB?
Defensive back, because I just like defense.
Favorite NFL Player?
Sauce Gardner and Ja’Marr Chase.
What was your favorite game so far?
The state championship game in high school.
What is your favorite football memory?
It was 4th down and my coach told me punt the ball, but I looked to the left and saw I can make the first down, so I ended up running to the left and got the touchdown against Newton Academy in the semifinals.
