Braeden Slone is a 5’11 200 lbs linebacker for Grant High coming out of the class of 2026. Slone has recieved offers from Bethel College, Centenary, and also Community Christian (Ca). Braeden has earned all-district the past 2 years competing at a high level. His 4.7 40 yard dash and 35 inch vertical highlights his explosiveness. Slone plays with a high motor, thriving at setting the edge, pursuing ball carriers, and applying pressure off of the edge. What motivates you most to play football?
Football has always been there for me as an escape and always gives me something to look forward to.
What does being a good teammate mean to you?
Holding each other accountable and always being there for each other, and have each other backs no matter what.
How was your experience during the Bowl Game?
It was a great experience and I’m super grateful I got to play in it. It was one of my favorite games of football I have ever played and I’m just glad I met new people and coaches and was surrounded by talent.
What is your favorite football memory and why?
Junior Year when we beat our division rivals.
What was your favorite game so far?
Senior night, it was a shootout even though we ended up losing it was the most fun game ever.
What made you start playing football?
Started as an escape, but turned into a hobby once i put my time and energy into it.
Dream Football College?
I would love to go to Louisiana Christian University, because it is Christian so I would love to grow not only as a football player but a person and it is close to home.
How has football helped you outside the sport?
It teaches a lot of lessons. Teaches discipline, teamwork, how to be reliable, and hard work, just a lot of lessons football can teach you that you can apply to everyday life.
If you did not play LB, what position would you play?
Definitely running back or fullback just because of the physicality.

Ray Lewis and Luke Kuechly.
Favorite Pre Game song and why?
Either “Hometown Glory” by Adele or “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake.
