2024 GF Player of Week 6: Riverside Academy (Reserve, LA) 2025 RB Dedric Lastie

#1 Riverside (LA) 2025 RB Dedric Lastie: 45,388 votes

Dedric Lastie had the state of Louisiana buzzing with a huge performance last Friday night. Facing off against Harlem Berry and St. Martin’s, fans knew they were in for a treat but maybe not in the way they thought. Lastie would steal the show and Riverside would run away with the game, winning 76-37. Lastie would end the night with 29 carries for 540 yards and 9 total TDs including a catch for a 20-yard TD. If you were not familiar with Dedric Lastie before last week, he definitely should have your attention now.

#2 Buckeye (LA) 2025 RB Jim Burlew: 10,086 votes

Buckeye RB Jim Burlew was the definition of efficient last week with only 12 carries on the game. This low carry number would not stop him from running for 201 yards and scoring 4 TDs on an electric night in a 46-20 win over Vidalia.

#3 South Plaquemines (LA) 2026 QB Roderick Parker: 4,104 votes

QB Rod Parker would have a great showing in a 55-12 win over Sarah T. Reed. He would finish the game 13-16 for 185 yards and 5 TDs on the night.

#4 Evangel Christian (LA) 2027 QB Peyton Houston: 2,082 votes

Sophomore QB Peyton “Pop” Houston was being talked about nationwide last weekend for the craziest QB stat line that we have seen in years. In a crazy shootout, Houston would throw 53 for 66 racking up a whopping 817 yds and 8 TDs. He did not stop there, also scoring 2 touchdowns on the ground to put him at 10 total touchdowns on a record-breaking night. This would be a crazy night for Evangel Christian as they would end up losing to Captain Shreve 77-76 in overtime in one of the highest-scoring games this season.

#5 Franklinton (LA) 2025 RB Sy Austin: 880 votes

Sy Austin had a monster night for his team in a hard-fought game this past Friday. He ended the game with 35 carries for 235 yards. His most important stat was his 4 touchdowns, including the game-winning TD with 26 seconds left, putting them up 35-28. He also had 2 receptions for 45 yards.

#6 Acadiana (LA) 2027 QB Caden Dibetta: 601 votes

Sophomore QB Caden Dibetta from Acadiana had a great night completing 11 of 13 passes for 301 yards and 5 TDs in a 48-7 win and setting new school passing records.

#7 Acadiana (LA) 2027 WR Collin Dibetta: 308 votes

From Acadiana once again, we have the other half of the Dibetta brothers, WR Collin Dibetta. The brotherly connection was buzzing last week as he had 5 catches for 156 yards and 4 TDs and also set a school record for receiving.

#8 Cecilia (LA) 2026 QB/WR/CB/K Ellis Stewart: 264 votes

Ellis Stewart got things done for Cecilia in many different ways in the team’s 56-18 win last Friday night over Breaux Bridge. The ATH who played receiver earlier in the season was under center for Friday’s night game. He put up amazing numbers completing 10 of 12 attempts for 190 yards and 5 passing TDs. He showed off his legs as well in the rushing game with 9 attempts for 197 yards and a rushing TD. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 2 solo tackles and he even got some work on special teams with 1 punt for 35 yards.

#9 Archbishop Shaw (LA) 2025 RB Jasper Parker: 237 votes

Michigan commit Jasper Parker rushed for 219 yards on 24 attempts, averaging 9.1 yards per carry. His longest run of the night was 73 yards and he would get into the endzone 4 times, propelling his team to a 35-14 win over St. James.

#10 Jewel Sumner (LA) 2025 LB Kendell Brown: 206 votes

Linebacker Kendell Brown had one of the coolest stat lines from this week’s nominations with 2 INTs both returned for TDs. One was a 45-yard return and the other was a 42-yard return. He also had 5 tackles with a tackle for loss to go with his 2 touchdowns. The defense was wreaking havoc all night as they would lead a shutout victory, 51-0, over Springfield.

#11 Jewel Sumner (LA) 2026 LB Makialley Robbins: 116 votes

At number 11, we have another linebacker from Jewel Sumner and their linebacker core had an insane performance last week. Makialley Robbins would have 3 total INTs with 1 being returned 34 yards for a TD. The other 2 were returned for 52 yards and 15 yards. He also had 4 tackles and 1 carry at RB for 15 yards to top off this elite performance.

#12 Haynesville (LA) 2026 QB/S/P Isaiah Washington: 68 votes

At number 12, we have another ATH, Isaiah Washington, who was all over the field in a 46-0 win over Jonesbooro-Hodge. He had a 46-yard punt return for a TD, 2 passing TDs (one 20-yard pass/ one 23-yard pass), and a 12-yard TD run. He also had an INT returned for a TD but was called back because of a block in the back behind the play.

#13 South Walton (LA) 2027 QB JD Brown: 50 votes

Sophomore QB JD Brown had an electric night on the ground and through the air as well. He finished the night 14/21 for 215 yards and 2 TDs. His rushing stats are what pops off the page with 5 rushes for 84 yards and 3 rushing TDs to put him at 5 total on the night in a 48-0 win over Freeport.

#14 Westwood (LA) 2027 QB Kavian Bryant: 43 votes

For number 14, we travel to Texas for a familiar face, last year’s Gridiron Football Player of the Year, sophomore QB Kavian Bryant. He has been having an amazing season and added on to it with a great performance throwing for 314 yards and 6 passing TDs. He also added 98 yards rushing as well on their way to 6-0 in a 63-14 win over Crockett.

#15 St. Martin’s (LA) 2025 RB Harlem Berry: 8 votes

LSU commit Harlem Berry is the #1 recruit in Louisiana at the running back position and he had another amazing performance last Friday. He finished the night with 25 carries for 330 yards and 5 TDs in an unfortunate loss against Riverside.

#16 Seward (AK) 2026 TE/DE Emerson Cross: 8 votes

For number 16, we travel all the way to Alaska for a performance from Emerson Cross in their 9-man state championship game. He would come up with 3 catches for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball. He shined on defense as well racking up 11 total tackles, 3 sacks, 2 TFLs, and 3 QB hurries on their way to a dominant 36-6 win.
