2017 Tulane Football Schedule Announced

NEW ORLEANS – The 2017 Tulane football schedule is complete with the today’s conference schedule release and select television networks by the American Athletic Conference.

The Green Wave is set to play league home games against Tulsa, USF, Cincinnati and Houston, and road contests at Navy, Memphis, East Carolina and SMU. Tulane also announced dates for Homecoming, Hall of Fame Weekend, Military Appreciation Day and its Breast Cancer Awareness game.

“We’re playing a tough schedule in The American and we’re also playing some great competition out of conference,” Tulane head coach Willie Fritz said. “We open against Grambling State, one of the top FCS programs in the country, and play at Oklahoma, which finished last season as one of the top five teams in FBS. We’re going to play a national schedule here at Tulane and you can certainly see that with our schedule this upcoming season.”

The Green Wave opens the 2017 season Saturday, Sept. 2 against Grambling State in Yulman Stadium, and will play host to Army on Saturday, Sept. 23 in its annual Military Appreciation game. Homecoming is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 when Cincinnati visits Yulman Stadium.

Tulane will honor its 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame class on Saturday, Oct. 7 when it plays host to Tulsa, and USF comes to town on Saturday, Oct. 21, for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness game. The 2017 Green Wave football seniors will be honored at the final home game on Saturday, Nov. 18 against Houston.

Conference away games are at Navy (Saturday, Sept. 9), Memphis (Friday, Oct. 27), East Carolina (Saturday, Nov. 11) and SMU (Saturday, Nov. 25). The Wave makes its first-ever visit to Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 16, and concludes non-conference action at FIU on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The road contests at Navy and Memphis have been selected for television by CBS Sports Network. Game times and television networks for the first three games will be announced in June, while other times and television selections will be made during the season. Once again, all American Athletic Conference games and non-conference home contests will be televised on the ESPN family of networks or CBS Sports Network.
