WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

This game was so unbelievable I don’t know where to start, so I will just go directly to the end, which is appropriate because  the only part of the game you needed to watch was the last 4 minutes! We were watching the game at one of our favorite establishments, Triple Tails Bar and Grill in Bay St Louis, with numerous Saints fans. Right around the 3rd quarter the mood became solemn as it looked like the winning streak was over. No one was watching the screen and everyone was engaged in casual conversation trying to accept the fact the game was lost. Then suddenly there was a shreek! I looked up and the Saints were within a conversion of going into overtime! Are you kidding me? I should have known as this is Saints football and you never know what will happen. The room became silent as they lined up to attempt the conversion, in the final seconds of the game mind you, and everyone held their breaths. Then there was the snap, the flip to Kamara, (who just previous made an amazing catch bobbling the ball but keeping his focus and making the touchdown), in he went and suddenly its in overtime! This was already one of the greatest comebacks I have ever seen, and being a Packers shareholder and fan I have seen some crazy ones, but it wasn’t over yet. The coin toss went the Redskins way and they elected to receive. Can we hold them? In the blink of an eye it was 3 and out and the Saints had the ball. They quickly marched down the field seemingly like a hot knife through butter, into field goal range, and Lutz bangs it through. THE SAINTS WIN IN OVERTIME 34 to 31! It wasn’t quite anymore…….

The Saints have a rising star in Kamara and now its time to start getting excited folks. I know I have been saying it even before the season began but this could be the year.

Geaux Saints!!
