The Green Wave traveled to Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia this past Saturday. Tulane University and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets toughed it out against one another for Tulane’s first road game of the 2015 season. After a rough first quarter for the offense, the Green Wave dug their way onto the scoreboard when Tulane’s Devon Breaux received a 44 yard pass from QB Tanner Lee, scoring a touchdown. With the kick, Andrew DiRocco allowed Tulane to put seven up on the board. The Green Wave’s offense continued to try and press the Yellow Jacket’s defense throughout the course of the game and were able to come away with a 37 yard field goal in the fourth quarter, made by Andrew DiRocco once again. Tulane’s match up against the Yellow Jackets may not have resulted in a victory, however The Green Wave has been building up a resistance to stacked defenses. The experience and takeaways from The Wave’s first road match will definitely benefit them going into their next home game at Yulman Stadium against Maine next Saturday, September 19. Diving deeper into their schedule, Coach Curtis Johnson knows that the maturity of his players will continue to be more evident once the rhythm of the season progresses and as his players’ increase their level of consistency. Next week, make sure that you’re looking out for the Tulane University Green Wave because it will be their first ever match up against the University of Maine Black Bears. Tulane continues to rev up for their upcoming conference match of the season against the University of Central Florida on October 3.
