TIGERS WRAP WEEK THREE OF SPRING PRACTICE GET BETTER ALONG OFFENSIVE LINE

Week three is in the books for the Tigers, and with that the first spring scrimmage as well. The addition of Coach Joe Brady has brought with it a renewed passing attack. Head Coach Ed Orgeron heaped praise on the young coach stating that “he has an excellent skill set, he likes to make sure that our receivers know all the positions. They may be in the slot one play and split out wide the very next.” LSU has been working on their rotation at the wide receiver position, and looks to be playing more guys this upcoming season.

The pass rush for LSU has improved. Senior linebacker Michael Divinity and junior linebacker Patrick Queen are stepping up for recent NFL draft departee Devin White. While Breiden Fehoko looked very agile after an off-season surgery.

The offensive line had a very good scrimmage, under the watchful eye of second year line Coach James Cregg, the pass protection has improved phenomenally. Saahdiq Charles, Lloyd Cushenberry, and Chasen Hines were all mentioned for their efforts during the scrimmage. Coach Orgeron noted that with the addition of incoming five star commit Kardell Thomas, the offensive line will be getting even better.

Quarterback Joe Burrow has become the absolute leader of this Tigers team. “We are so much of a better team with him.” Ed Orgeron said at his Thursday press conference. “His arm is stronger than it was last season, he’s very good on quarterback runs.” Since transferring into LSU, Burrow has brought a lunch pale mentality with him.

Cornerback Derek Stingley has been in the rotation with the first team since he got on campus. According to Coach Orgeron, “he’s further along than any player I’ve ever coached.” Stingley has a knack for the football, and is a phenomenal player. “We went right at him in the scrimmage, we threw a fade route to his side and he intercepted it on the first play.” The true freshman has been asked a great deal of and has even been returning punts during practice.

Up next for the Tigers is their Pro Day which will have 12 players, including projected first rounders Devin White and Greedy Williams.
