The Bengal’s defense looked very promising throughout the entire game but was left in unfortunate positions by a struggling Belaire offense. They were able to get good pressure on the quarterback and got 4 sacks.
Belaire struggled to move the ball on offense in the first half with a young freshman quarterback. They turned the ball over twice and also had 2 punts blocked.
They were fortunate enough to be bailed out by a strong Belaire defense lead by #6 Kendrick Miles and #17 JaQuan Whitaker. Starting 4 first-half drives in their own territory and only allowing only 7 points is certainly something to build from.
The Bengals returned kicks extremely well in the first half including one their own 45 by Kendrick Miles and another to St. Michael 30 by #5 Javieon Morgan.
The offense opened the second half trailing 14-0. They got the ball and started off moving with their biggest gains of the night to that point on huge runs from Javieon Morgan and Caleb Joseph.
Following those runs, it was more of what we saw in the first half and the offense struggled to get the ball moving down the field. The final score was 23-0
The defense played extremely well in the loss and was able to keep fighting throughout the entire game despite being left in a difficult field position multiple times in each half.
