South Lafourche beats their rivals Central Lafourche in a 48-14 Rout

South Lafourche @ Central Lafourche

Central Lafourche had an emotional victory over South Lafourche last season which at the time snapped a 21 game losing streak for the Trojans. That game last year set the scene for an anticipated matchup in 2023! Central Lafourche (CL) decided to schedule South Lafourche (SL) as their homecoming game along with naming the field after the a legendary coach in their school’s history, Bob Gros. The two schools also had a pretty historic combined pep rally on CL campus earlier in the day. Quarterback Carson Orgeron, who was at CL, then transferred to SL, and is now in his senior year. So there was a lot of hype surrounding the game and SL came to Matthews with something to prove.

South Lafourche scored quick to start the game as Carson Orgeron took one 79 yards to the house on the ground. Orgeron accounted for 3 TDs in the first half as he led SL to a 21-0 halftime lead. In the second half, SL opposed their will as they made play after play. Didn’t get a chance to look at the final stats, but I know Carson Orgeron had over 300 all purpose yards with 5 TDs. Orgeron is a natural athlete and is one of the best QBs in the last decade to play at SL. This game was a rout as South Lafourche defeated their rivals 48-14.

Coach BJ Young and the Tarpons have South Terrebonne in week 4. South Terrebonne is struggling and South Lafourche is rolling into this one with some momentum. It will also be homecoming for the Tarpons next week.
