Robert Alford Meet and Greet Set for Super Lion Saturday on April 1

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana fans will have an opportunity to meet current Atlanta Falcon and former Lion defensive back Robert Alford as part of Super Lion Saturday on April 1.

The event is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. in the Victory Club in Strawberry Stadium. Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Southeastern Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Development Tom Dawsey at (985) 549-5226.

The exclusive event is open to all on a first-come, first-serve basis and only 50 tickets are available. All proceeds benefit the Touchdown Club, the fundraising arm of the Southeastern football program.

The event, which includes a buffet dinner and drinks, will open with photo opportunities for attendees with Alford from 4-4:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. with Alford addressing the crowd at 5:15 p.m.

Alford, who prepped at Hammond High School, starred for the Lions from 2009-12 before the Atlanta Falcons took him with the 60th overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft. During his four-year career, Alford has established himself as one of the league’s top cover corners.

In 2016, Alford helped the Falcons to Super Bowl LI, becoming the first former Lion to play in sports’ biggest game. He made his presence known, returning a second-quarter Tom Brady interception for an 82-yard touchdown to go with a first-quarter fumble recovery and 11 tackles.

The meet and greet with Alford is the latest event on a jam-packed Super Lion Saturday. The day includes the Green and Gold Fun Run at 8 a.m., a free youth football camp at 11 a.m., softball versus Lamar and tennis versus Incarnate Word at noon, the football Spring Game at 2 p.m. and baseball versus McNeese at 6 p.m.
