LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Department of Athletics announced on Wednesday a pair of fund raising efforts to assist members of the Coastal Carolina University community that was affected earlier this month by Hurricane Matthew.
Beginning on Friday, Nov. 4, Ragin’ Cajuns student-athletes will be selling jambalaya plate lunches for $10 between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Alumni Tent near Gate A of Cajun Field. To pre-order for delivery, fans are asked to call the UL Compliance Office at (337) 482-5195. All money raised will go to relief efforts for the CCU community.
Student-athletes will also be on hand on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the entrances to Cajun Field as they will be collecting monetary donations prior to the Ragin’ Cajuns homecoming game against Idaho.
Last month after the historic flooding in Louisiana, members of both the South Alabama and Coastal Carolina University communities provided relief for local residents.
Members of the USA Athletic Department delivered supplies that were used to help UL students who were affected by the flooding while student-athletes and administrators from CCU helped deliver supplies to flood victims in St. Martinville.
