This Friday, December 1st, Acadiana High School will travel down to New Orleans to face Edna Karr High School in the Semifinals at 7:00 P.M. This will be the LHSAA Division I semifinals game. The winner of this game will face the winner of the Rummel @ Catholic, which is also being played at 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
Both teams have had impressive seasons being first in their districts with Edna Karr’s record being 10-1 and Acadiana’s record being 10-2. Because each team is first in their district, they both had a bye for week one of the playoffs. Since then, they have both won their last two games bringing us to this situation that is before us.
So far in the playoffs, Edna Karr’s powerful offense has been putting together a scoring clinic against their opponents scoring an average of 45 points in their last two games. Out of those two games, one was decided by one possession and the other was a shutout. On the other hand, Acadiana has had much closer games putting up 28 and 14 in their last two outings, with one of those games being decided by one possession.
This matchup by these two well-coached teams should be a fantastic one to watch. Acadiana’s head coach is Coach Matt McCullough. Edna Karr’s head coach is Coach Brice Brown.
