LSU SETS SPRING PRACTICE DATES; TIGERS OPEN DRILLS ON SATURDAY

BATON ROUGE – LSU returns to the football field this week as the team opens spring practice on Saturday for the first of 15 workouts for the Tigers under head coach Ed Orgeron.

 

Orgeron will preview LSU’s spring practice at 11 a.m. on Tuesday as he will meet with members of the media at the LSU Football Operations Facility.

 

LSU returns 12 starters (7 offense, 5 defense) from last year’s team that posted an 8-4 overall mark and beat Louisville and its Heisman Trophy quarterback Lamar Jackson, 29-9, in the Citrus Bowl.

 

The Tigers will practice in helmets on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for their only workout this week. Next week, LSU will practice on Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday. The Tigers are slated for scrimmages on March 25, April 1 and will close out the spring with the National L Club Spring Game at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 in Tiger Stadium.

 

Other highlights this spring for the Tigers include the annual coaching clinic on featuring guest speaker Anthony Munoz on March 23-24followed by LSU Pro Day on April 5. LSU will break following practice on April 6 for Spring Break and Easter and will return for the final three practices on April 18.

First Practice:      March 11

Week 1:                 March 14, 16, 18

Week 2:                 March 21, 23, 25

Week 3:                 March 28, 30, April 1

Week 4:                 April 4, 6

Week 5:                 April 18, 20, 22
