High School Football Recruiting: Jonesboro Hodge

Brantley Mathis played football for approximately five years. He is now a scout with Louisiana Gridiron Football and is currently scouting high school level talent throughout Louisiana. He hopes to make a positive impact on recruits and help them obtain their goal of playing football at the next level.

Jonesboro-Hodge high school is located in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Last year they posted a 9-4 (5-1) record and lost in the third round of the Class 1A playoffs.

Kameron Booker    Size |3| Strength |6| Speed |10| Technique |10| Hands |10|  Overall |7.8|

JR RB

Height: 5.10

Weight: 160

4 Star Recruit

Positives

  • Great speed
  • Breaks tackles and makes people miss

Negatives

  • Needs bulk
  • Footwork

Overall

Kameron plays very strong for his size, dragging defenders and making them bounce off initial contact. His speed is elite, and it plays a part in his elusiveness. He should look to add some weight and strength. Could be a DI FCS or DII prospect. Check out his highlights, here is a link: https://www.hudl.com/profile/4407675/Kameron-Booker/videos

Reginal Shallowhorn    Size |6| Strength |6| Speed |7| Technique |6| Hands |7|   Overall |6.4|

JR FS

Height: 5.11

Weight: 160

3 Star Recruit

Positives

  • Catches at high point
  • Tackles in space
  • Run support

Negatives

  • Needs bulk
  • Footwork

Overall

Reginal has above average speed and technique, and is always around the ball–whether it be creating turnovers or breaking up passes. He plays big for his size, is not afraid to make any tackle, and is a great run stopper from his safety position. He should look to improve his footwork and hips, as well as getting stronger. Could possibly be a DII or DIII prospect. Check out his highlights, here is a link: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/6563908/5a19ce788cd3fb02cc2536b7

Jahida Lewis    Size |4| Strength |4| Speed |3| Technique |3| Hands |5|   Overall |3.8|

JR DT

Height: 6.0

Weight: 250

2 Star Recruit

Positives

  • Shoots hands well
  • Quick off the ball

Negatives

  • Slow motor
  • Needs more size
  • Stands up at the snap of the ball

Overall

Jahida is good at coming off the ball quickly and getting hands on opposing lineman. However, he does not play very fast or physical, and tends to stand up when the ball is snapped. He should look to improve his speed and strength. Could be a DIII or JUCO level prospect. Check out his highlights, here is a link:  https://www.hudl.com/video/3/8434028/5a43dc55688e550d7c644edd
