EDGE/LB Darius Williams: Natchez, MS

For our latest Diamond in the Rough featured athlete, we take a trip to Natchez High School in Natchez, Mississippi. Darius Williams is a 6’2, 200 pound athlete who can play either linebacker or defensive end for the Bulldog defense. Natchez High plays some stiff competition, so Williams will be a key player in their defense next season. There are very many qualities to Darius’ game that stand out. He has a very quick first step, which is very evident when watching his film. He runs a 4.55 40-yard dash and this makes it easy to get around his competition. As a three sport athlete, playing football, playing soccer, and running track really all help him prepare his body for the football field.

Tell me a little bit about yourself, like where are you from and how old were you when you started playing football?

How has the recruiting process been so far for you? Any offers? Or any interest from schools?

“The recruiting process has been hard no offers or interest. I can just trust in God and play hard.”

Why should a college start recruiting you or continue to do so?

“A college should recruit me because I think I’m elite. I always want to help the team on and off the field and win.”

Are there any college or pro players that you model your game after?

“Micah Parsons is who I relate my game to.”

How do you enjoy playing at Natchez? How do you see their offense playing this coming season?
