Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I’m originally from Birmingham, AL. I like to hang out with friends and play basketball sometimes. I’ve been playing football at John Carrol all four years and I’ve been varsity all four years. I’m a team captain as well.
How did you start playing football?
I played in little league for two years. I started playing in middle school for Berry middle school in seventh grade and played in 8th grade. I broke my thumb the third game and I ended up moving. My junior year is when my name started getting out there.
What are some goals you have for this season?
The season is almost over, but we’re looking to make the playoffs. I’m looking to make All-Region, All-Metro, and All-State again. I want to lead the team in touchdowns and lead the team in receiving yards.
What keeps you motivated?
My family, just situations and things that we’ve been through. I want to better my life and set myself and my family up for success. And my passion for the game.
How do you prepare for a game?
Since, we’re a Catholic school, we have a chapel. We sit there for 20 or 30 minutes. Our coach opens up the floor for words and then we’ll have our pre-game meal. I listen to music and I walk the field and vibe with my teammates.
What is an important lesson that you have learned from football?
Just to keep fighting through adversity and don’t give up.
What are some of your greatest strengths?
I’ve been told I am a leader and that I am trustworthy and I’m easy to open up to. That’s something I like to do. Since, school has started I help feed the homeless with some of the sisters and the priests.
What do you think sets you apart from other players?
Just my versatility and I’m coachable. I’m a tight end and safety, but I can play any position. I’m tall and I can also get open.
What are some of your long term goals?
I want to be a physical therapist if professional sports don’t work out. I would like to get a Power 5 offer. I want to try to make it to the league and graduating college.
