Jaylon Turner is a 6’0” 165 pound Senior Middle Linebacker for Peabody High school out of Alexandria, Louisiana. With a large 6’0” frame and 4.7 40 yard dash, Turner is the perfect hybrid of speed and strength. Although he is listed as an outside linebacker, Turner’s defensive line experience helps him sets the edge, making him a nightmare for any player out of the offensive backfield. Although Turner’s strong spot is lined up as a standing rusher over the edge, he is also able to sit back in the slot and drop into pass coverage when need be. Upon first glance at film, Turner’s tenacity for the ball from a defensive standpoint is freakish and goes without mention. However, upon further inspection, Turner’s most impressive accolade is his seamless transition from his natural outside linebacker spot to inside linebacker, edge rusher, and even into pass coverage. Turner keeps a presence on the field while also doing his job off the field, maintaining a 3.44 GPA. I had a chance to speak with Jaylon and get some insight into his life as a defensive force.
