DITR: Ethan Galloway (St. Stanislaus Catholic High School, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi)

Our next Diamond in the Rough is Ethan Galloway, a class of 2024 Wide Receiver and Returner from St. Stanislaus Catholic High School. Ethan is 6’0 170 LBS, he runs a 4.5 forty yard dash, benches 245 LBS, squats 375 LBS, and power cleans 205 LBS. Ethan excels in the classroom boasting a 3.7 GPA. He was voted the Rock-A-Chaw’s Most Valuable Receiver last season. He had 450 receiving yards along with 320 return yards and got into the end zone 11 times last year.

When did you start playing football?

“I started playing football during my sophomore year of high school.”

What is your favorite part about football?

“I just enjoy how you need to constantly bring the energy while playing this game.”

What is the hardest part about football?

“Bouncing back from a loss can be really tough. Knowing that you need to flush it from your mind and move on isn’t always the easiest.”

What is something you have learned from playing football?

“You need to be patient with this game, keep practicing and you will get the results you want to see.”

Do you play any other sports?

“I run track, I run the 100M, 4x100m, and the 4x200M.”

Who is your favorite College Football Team?

“I like the Ohio State Buckeyes.”

Who is your favorite NFL Team?

“I am a fan of the New Orleans Saints.”

Who is your biggest role model?

“I have lots of influential people that I look too so there isn’t just one person, I just try to be the best person I can be.”

Do you have any players you like to emulate your game after?

“Yes on the professional level it is Stefon Diggs and Justin Jefferson, on the college scene it is Marvin Harrison Jr and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.”

How do you balance school and football?

“I try to finish my work in class or after lunch, but once I get home after practice I will do any more work or studying if needed.”

How do you prepare for a game?

“I just try to think about what my job is for the game and why I am playing the game I love, I will then say a prayer and get out on the field.”

Do you have any goals for next season?

“I want to surpass 1000 receiving yards and would like to have at least 15 touchdowns.”

What is your best skillset as a player?

“That would have to be my route running, I try my best to run crisp and efficient routes to beat my opponents.”

What does it mean to be a good teammate to you?

“It means a lot, there are younger guys that need people to look up too. I want them to know to be patient and to put in the work and their time will come.”

How does your team see success in the upcoming season?

“We need to come out harder in the beginning of games. We need to play with more aggression.”
