DE Tre’ Magee: Franklinton, LA

Our latest Diamond in the Rough athlete is 2024 Pine High School DE Tre’ Magee. Tre’ was an attendant of our latest Elite Camp held at Northshore High School, and he was able to show off his talents there. The 6’4, 245 pound run stopper can play either defensive end or defensive tackle, but does most of his work from the end. His 3.7 GPA, an All-District honor last season, and his high IQ make it evident that he puts in the necessary work off the field to keep him ready for being on the field. He is a fast learner and will be able to get even better during this offseason. There are many qualities in his game that make him a great fit for the Raider defensive line.

What age were you when you started playing football and why did you continue to do so over the years?

“I started playing football around 6 and I’ve been in love with the game since.”

Do you play any other sports or is or only football for you?

“I only play football.”

What are you biggest strengths as a player?

“My length, my knowledge for the game, being able to stop the run, and pressuring quarterbacks.”

What’re the biggest things to improve on as a defensive end this off season?

“Hands, footwork, reading and reacting to different blocking schemes.”

What would you describe as a good teammate?

“A person who is a hard worker, selfless, competes everyday, and embraces their role on the team.”

How has the recruiting process been for you? Any potential offers or any other interests?

“It’s been slow, at the moment. I have no potential offers.”

Do you have any goals for this season? And what do you want to get out of this season?

“The goal for my senior year is to be dominant, win district, win in the playoffs, be a 1st team all district player.”

How do you enjoy playing at Pine and is it a good fit for you and your football talent?

“It’s a great fit for me because the coaches put me in the best situation to preform every week.”

Are there any players you model your game after or watch their tape?

“I like to watch and model my game after guys like Daron Payne, Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett, and Kenny Clark.”

How do you balance football and school?

“I’m a fast learner, so balancing school and football isn’t much of a problem for me.”

Beat Writer Jace LeJeune interviewed Tre’ at the Elite Camp.

How do you prepare yourself for a football game?

“I usually watch film on the team we are playing all week, and before the game I always say a prayer and motivate my teammates for the game.”

How would your teammates describe you?

“A funny and smart person that shows up every week ready to work.”

How was it getting the opportunity to perform at the Northshore Elite Camp?

“It was a great opportunity, I learned a lot from the camp.”
