D.I.T.R: Judsen Carter

Judsen Carter is one the returning class of 2024 players for the Jefferson Bulldogs (Jefferson, TX). He is a 6’0 155 safety with a ton of range on the football field. The young safety ended with 111 total tackles his junior season. A hard hitting safety that prevents big plays from happening against the Bulldogs. On top of his play on the football field, he is a studious player in the classroom with a 3.86 GPA. Carter, a multisport athlete, hopes to put up an amazing senior year for the Jefferson team that is hungry for another district title.

Here is Judsen Carter’s interview with me.

When did you start playing football?

I started at the age of 6, when I used to play only offense.

What made you switch to the defensive side of the ball?

I went into my freshman year only playing QB, the team had a deep room and needed help in the secondary. I wanted to play and also help the team out.

What are some hobbies you like to do outside of school?

I like working out and playing baseball. I have also gotten into power lifting recently to get more stronger.

Have you played other sports outside of football?

I play baseball, track and powerlift.

What was it winning the district this past year?

It was a lot of fun, the offense was always driving down the field and defense was always making stops. I felt like everything was going our way this season, we were dominating every team.

Is there a NCAA/NFL player that you would compare yourself to?

A lot of my friends like to compare me to Harrison Smith, I’m a real physical safety that loves contact.

What skills do you have that sets yourself from the others?

I definitely like to say my football IQ. I play madden and learned a lot through it. When I got to the high school level, my coaches just added more knowledge to me.

Do you have a favorite football moment in your young career?

Last year we beat Tatum in OT, we stopped the quarterback at the 1 yard line to win the game.

Who pushes you to be better through your football journey?

My parents, they keep me going and do a lot for me as well.

What has Head football Coach Jimmerson done to improve your football career?

He pushes me everyday, at practice, he tells us to do the most to improve the team.

What are your goals for your senior year at Jefferson?

I hope to break the 150 tackles mark, win back to back district champions, and make a playoff run.

How do you succeed as a teammate?

Help the people around me. Teach them things that they might not comprehend as well as I do.

Do you have a certain every gameday ritual?

I like to text my parents that I love them and I’m doing it for them.

What are future colleges getting out of you?

A guy that works hard everyday and someone who wont let you down.

How can you improve your game over the next year?

I’m going to focus on getting bigger, stronger, and you can always get little faster.
