The Belaire Bengals travelled to Central, Louisiana for a matchup against the Central High School Wildcats. The beginning of the game was slightly pushed back due to lightning, and weather conditions affected both sides, as there were multiple turnovers from both teams in the rain.
On Central’s opening drive, they fumbled, and Belaire gained possession at the Central 25. Belaire looked like they were going to capitalize with the field goal, but it was blocked. Central in turn capitalized on the field position and scored a touchdown.
Belaire fumbled 3 times on 3 straight drives, leading to 20 straight Central points. The Wildcats scored one more touchdown and got a safety on a botched snap, leading to the score being 34-0 at halftime. QB Jonathan Swift II had over 100 rushing yards, with multiple touchdowns in the air and on the ground.
To start of the second half, Denichlass Jeter picked off a ball from Swift, giving Belaire the ball in Wildcat territory. They could not capitalize, and then Swift ran for a touchdown. He was pulled from the game in the third quarter without an injury. Regardless, the second half was more of the same, as Central beat Belaire 48-0.
