Belaire falls to Walker

The Belaire Bengals faced Walker High School in a Thursday Night matchup. The Walker Wildcats were able to gain momentum early, scoring on their first 4 drives to take a 22-0 first-half lead. After that point, they didn’t look back and went on to beat the Bengals 42-0.

One player that stepped up for Belaire was #16, Caleb Joseph. He played on both sides of the ball and despite some of the struggles from Belaire he showed his resiliency and continued to battle all 4 quarters. He was the spark the Bengal offense needed in a lot of situations and ran the ball with a lot of grit despite trailing the entire game.

During the second quarter, the Belaire defense showed what they were capable of doing when they played together as a unit and played fearless. They held Walker to only 6 points in the second quarter while also forcing 2 turnovers on downs and recovering a forced fumble.

At the end of the day, the Walker Wildcats played a very good football game and were able to recover from last week’s loss to 1A Kentwood, by capturing a big win in their home stadium on Home Coming night.
