A Look into the Future: Kentwood Kangaroos

This year at LGF, we will be taking a look at the senior class of some Louisiana high schools and taking a look at their potential to play at the next level. Categories for each position are measured on a 1-10 scale, with 10 being well above average and 1 being well below average. We continue with the senior class of Kentwood High school.

Larenz Morris ATH 5-10 175lbs

Plays all over the field. Usually the best athlete on the field. Catching the ball, whther its out of the backfield or lined up at receiver, is when he’s at his best. Good footwork when at receiver. Good hands. Don’t think he’s a QB but succeeds when in shotgun. Future Outlook: FCS/D2 WR/RB/ATH

Aldric Lott CB/WR 5-9 170lbs

Good speed. Plays physical and isn’t scared to help in run defense. Think he mainly plays slot because of his size. Technique on route running needs work. Future Outlook: D3 WR/RB

Jamarquee Diamond QB 6-1 180lbs

Decent arm and accuracy. Footwork in the pocket is good. Makes plays on the move and can escape the pocket when needed. Dual-threat QB. Throwing motion needs to be refined. Future Outlook: D2 QB

Justice Ulschak OL 6-0 265lbs

A bully in the trenches. Wins one on one blocks and athletic enough to pull. Stance needs work to be able to get off the snap faster. Competes until the whistle. Future Outlook: D2 OL

Jalinn Cooper DL 5-9 205lbs

Quick get off at the line. His speed is his advantage. Built more like a LB/S and probably moves positions after high school. Future Outlook: D3 LB/S

Eric Dunn OT/DT 6-6 240lbs

Very good athlete for his size. His pass pro sets need work but is very good in attacking in the run game. Playing defense in the middle of the DL is an advantage because of his size but OT is his best position. Future Outlook: D1/D2 OL

Damontha Magee DE/LB 6-0 163lbs

Uses his speed around the edge. Good play recognition and is able to defeat combo blocks. Will most likely move to LB. Future Outlook: D2 LB

Taydron Lee LB 6-2 220lbs

Strong, physical player. Takes on OL head on when they are trying to block him. Read and react linebacker. Will need to learn how to maneuver/shed blockers that he cant overpower. Good speed. Future Outlook: D2 LB
